Funds raised through the 2024 Give 716 Campaign will ease the journeys of WNY patients with breast cancer through pre-breast surgery education, comfort blankets, and restorative health classes.

Our bi-monthly Breast Surgery Information Program is a collaborative effort with Buffalo Therapy Services and are open to all WNY patients scheduled for breast cancer surgery, ranging from lumpectomies to double mastectomies. They learn what to expect and how to manage before, during, and after surgery. Many have demanding journeys ahead, balancing treatment, families, jobs, homes, and finances. Patient worry can be very profound. Our program helps ease anxiety and addresses concerns.

Through our Comfort Blanket Program, each breast cancer patient leaves the Breast Surgery Information Program with a fleece blanket. Our generous donors make this gift possible to offer support as patients prepare for surgery and after, in recovery. These blankets really warm their hearts.

For breast cancer patients and those in recovery, the Restorative Health Classes, offered by the Breast Cancer Network of WNY at the United Way, are a lifeline. We help fund these classes that include yoga, pilates, and reiki. They reduce stress and fatigue, build strength, and decrease the risk of recurrence, providing a holistic approach to health and well-being.
